Suspect sought in Vaughan sexual assault

Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit - Sexual Assault Section are seeking a male suspect and any witnesses following an assault that occurred in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, July 22, 2019 shortly after 11 p.m., a female was walking westbound on Langstaff Road after leaving the gas station located on the southeast corner of Langstaff Road and Huntington Road. As she was halfway between Huntington Road and Highway 50, an unknown male approached the female from behind, placed his hand over her mouth and forced her to the ground.

The victim screamed, attracting attention from passing motorists who slowed down. The suspect then fled on foot.

Suspect:

  • Male
  • 6’
  • Medium build
  • Short curly hair
  • Wearing black clothing
