Suspect sought following assault at Vaughan nightclub

Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are releasing images of a suspect and seeking public assistance to identify him following an assault at a nightclub in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, shortly after 3 a.m., police responded to a report of an injured man in a parking lot outside of a nightclub located in the area of Interchange Way and Jane Street. Officers located a 22-year-old man suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains.

Investigators believe that the victim was involved in an altercation with a suspect outside of the nightclub. During the altercation, the suspect punched the victim, causing him to fall and strike his head on the ground. The victim was helped by friends and received assistance from bystanders who called   9-1-1 for assistance.

Investigators have secured images of the suspect obtained from video surveillance inside of the nightclub. They are asking anyone with information about the identity of the suspect to please contact police.

  • 5’11”
  • Medium build
  • Wearing a black hoodie

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident but has not spoken with investigators is also asked to come forward.
