Stabbing suspect sought after October attack in Aurora

Crime Stoppers of York Region has released surveillance video of the suspect

Police have released surveillance video of a suspect following a stabbing in Aurora on Oct. 31

A man was stabbed twice in the torso at about 11:55 a.m. on Halloween. The incident occurred in the Pizza Nova Plaza on Yonge Street near Brookland Avenue.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect fled on foot and security footage shows him opening the door of a silver Honda Civic in a neighbouring plaza but not getting in the car. The suspect continued south on Yonge on foot.

Police have now shared the video footage in hopes of identifying the suspect. He is described as a male, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, with a heavy build. He was wearing a black puffy Helly Hansen jacket with a hood, dark cargo pants, black dress shoes, black baseball cap, a white face mask, and black sunglasses. He spoke English but possibly with an accent.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online
