Driver, 22, clocked doing over 140 in an 80 km/h zone: OPP

ELDERSLIE TOWNSHIP - On Sept. 26, 2019 at 2:41 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol noticed an oncoming vehicle moving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle's speed was displayed on radar at more than 140 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped and 22-year-old Light Ariajegbe of Newmarket was charged with race a motor vehicle. The accused will be appearing in court as required to answer to the charge.

This charge includes a seven-day vehicle impound and seven-day licence suspension.
