Single-vehicle crash on Highway 7 leads to charges for Aurora driver

CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES – On June 25, 2020 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Hwy 7 near Acrevale Rd that resulted in the driver facing multiple charges.  

When officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP arrived at the location they discovered that the driver had fled the scene. An investigation was initiated and the OPP's Canine unit attended to assist with the search.  

The driver, who was the lone occupant in the vehicle, was located and arrested. Jordan Dallard, 34 years of age, of Aurora, was charged with the following offences:    

  • Operation while prohibited, contrary to the Criminal Code 
  • Obstruct peace officer, contrary to the Criminal Code 
  • Careless driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act  
  • Fail to remain, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act  

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Aug. 27, 2020.
