Update, Nov. 21: Newmarket pedestrian, 84, killed in collision on Leslie Street

A serious collision has closed Leslie Street, north of Davis Drive, from Wayne Drive to Elgin Street in Newmarket.
York Regional Police is advising motorists to avoid the area, which is near the 404 Plaza, due to traffic delays as a result of the collision that occurred at about 6 p.m. Nov. 20.
York Region Transit bus routes 50, 55B and 56 are being detoured.
York Regional Police is asking witnesses to contact the major collision investigation unit by calling 1-866-876-5423.
