Second arrest made in November 2020 homicide in Richmond Hill

A 19-year-old from Toronto is facing a first degree murder charge in connection with the shooting last November

Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit have made a second arrest in connection with a 2020 homicide investigation in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, at 6:19 p.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence on Leisure Lane, which is in the area of Bathurst Street and Major Mackenzie Drive West, for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a man outside of a residence who was suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was identified as Amir Hossein Homayouni, also known as Danny, 35, from the City of Richmond Hill.

On Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, investigators executed a warrant in the City of Toronto and arrested the first suspect, Jaheim Claudius Johnson, 18, of Toronto. He was charged with first degree murder.

Through the investigation officers identified a second suspect. He was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, and has been charged.

  • Guilherme Lima, 19, of Toronto

  • First degree murder
