Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking a suspect and witnesses following an armed robbery at a pharmacy in the City of Richmond Hill.
On Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, at approximately 3:30 p.m., York Regional Police were called to a pharmacy on Bayview Avenue near York Mills Avenue in Richmond Hill for a report of a robbery. A male suspect armed with a handgun entered a pharmacy and demanded cash and drugs. The suspect obtained a quantity of items and fled from the scene. Fortunately, the employee was not physically injured.
The suspect was described as male, heavy build, wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, blue jeans, dark gloves and a dark-coloured mask.
Investigators from the Hold-Up Unit remind business owners of the importance of maintaining and updating video surveillance equipment. Quality images help to identify suspects, can aid in arrests and have a tremendous impact during court proceedings.
