Police still seeking witnesses in fatal Richmond Hill collision

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit continue to seek anyone who witnessed a fatal collision in the Town of Richmond Hill.  

On Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at 5:30 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision at 88 East Beaver Creek Road, which is in the area of Sims Crescent.

A 91-year-old female passenger from one of the vehicles suffered life-threatening injuries and she was taken to hospital. On Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, investigators were advised by the hospital that sadly, she had succumbed to her injuries.

The vehicles involved in the collision were a 2015 red Audi four-door sedan and a 2017 blue Cadillac four-door sedan.

Investigators believe that there was a transport truck parked facing northbound on East Beaver Creek Road at the time of the collision. They are appealing to the driver of the truck, or anyone who may have seen the truck, to please come forward.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who may have been driving on East Beaver Creek, north of the popular restaurant area, who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, are being asked to please come forward.
