Police seize gun, brass knuckles, cannabis following LCBO theft

Four people have been charged with drug and firearms-related offences following a theft from an LCBO store in the City of Vaughan. On Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, shortly after 6 p.m., police were called to the LCBO in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive and Jane Street for a report of a theft in progress.

Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect vehicle in a nearby parking lot with three people inside, who were all placed under arrest. A fourth suspect left the area, but was later located nearby and also taken into custody.

During a search of the suspect vehicle, officers located a loaded handgun, brass knuckles and nearly 600 grams of cannabis.

  • Symphani Barclay, 19, City of Toronto
  • Amin Guled, 18, City of Toronto

Charges include:

  • Theft under $5,000
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a loaded firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of a prohibited device
  • Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution
  • Possession for the purpose of selling
