Police seek witnesses to van, SUV collision in Vaughan

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a serious collision in the City of Vaughan.  

On Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers responded to the area of Jane Street and Highway 7 for a report of a two-vehicle collision with several people injured.

Officers determined that a Dodge Caravan with seven occupants was travelling west on Highway 7 while a Subaru Crosstek, was travelling north on Jane Street.

A passenger in the Dodge Caravan, a 78-year-old man from Vaughan, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. All other occupants of the van and the driver of the Subaru, all received minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, are being asked to please come forward.
