Police seek witnesses following fatal collision in Vaughan

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, shortly before midnight, police were called to a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive West and Dufferin Street. When officers arrived they found one of the drivers, a 57-year-old man from the Town of Richmond Hill, had been ejected, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

The other driver, a 21-year-old woman from the Town of Aurora, remained at the scene and was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the collision are being asked to please come forward.
