Police seek social media video after Bradford boy, 13, arrested

Police say the teen was charged after a dispute with another teen; the victim remains in hospital in critical condition

A 13-year-old male from the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury has been charged with aggravated assault after another teen was critically injured in an altercation.

On Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service was called regarding a 13-year-old male who was taken to hospital after collapsing shortly after arriving home from school. An investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Bureau determined the teen had been injured in a physical altercation.

As a result of the investigation, a 13-year-old Bradford male has been charged with aggravated assault. He was released to his parents pending a future court date. The name of the accused cannot be released due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The victim remains in critical condition in a hospital.

Through the investigation, police have been made aware of a video of the fight that is circulating on social media. Police are appealing to anyone who has the video to submit it anonymously to Crime Stoppers on this website or call the anonymous tip line at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
