Police say a suspect threatened employees with a firearm when demanding drugs

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are releasing images of a person of interest being sought in connection with two pharmacy robberies in the City of Markham.

On Thusday, June 8, 2021 at 1:30 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a pharmacy located in the area of McCowan Road and Denison Street for a report of a robbery.

Officers learned that one male suspect entered the store and threatened the employee with a firearm while demanding drugs. The suspect obtained various medications then fled the scene.

On Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2:50 p.m., officers responded to a pharmacy located in the area of Ivanhoe Drive and 16th Avenue for a report of a robbery.

Officers learned that one male suspect entered the store and threatened the employee with a firearm, while demanding drugs. The suspect obtained various medications then fled the scene in a silver Toyota Rav 4.

Person of interest:
    •    Male, Asian, thin build, 5’8” - 5’10”

Vehicle of interest:
    •    Silver Toyota Rav 4
