York Regional Police is seeking public assistance to locate a 53-year-old man missing from the Town of East Gwillimbury.

Robert John Weiss was last in contact with his family on the phone on July 8, 2019. On July 15, 2019, a family member attempted to contact him but could not reach him, which is very out of character for him. Investigators have located video surveillance showing Mr. Weiss going northbound through the Lowes Plaza at Yonge Street and Green Lane on July 12 at approximately 3:30 p.m.

He is known to frequent the area of the Newmarket Inn and the plazas at Yonge Street and Green Lane.

Police and his family are growing increasingly concerned for his well-being. A command post has been set up at Yonge Street and Green Lane and officers will be conducting a search in that area. Investigators are also asking any business owners or anyone residing in that area to check their properties.
