Police identify man involved in King City Secondary School assault

Investigators with the #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau thank the community and the media after tips led to the identity of a suspect wanted in an assault that occurred at King City Secondary School.

On Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, shortly before 11:30 a.m., an unknown man gained entry to King City Secondary School. He walked around the first floor of the school, then went upstairs to a classroom on the second floor. He walked into a classroom and punched a teacher in the face. He then fled the school west on King Road. The teacher, a 37-year-old man, had minor injuries. There were no students in the school at the time of the incident.

Thanks to the many tips that were quickly received, the suspect was identified. On Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 he turned himself in at #1 District in the Town of Newmarket and has been charged.

Charged: 

  • Alexander Kehyeina, 21, City of Richmond Hill

Charges: 

  • Assault  
  • Mischief  
  • Trespass to property  
  • Fail to comply with a continued Section 7.0.2 Order

The investigation is ongoing.
