Police ask for help to identify Vaughan gas station robber

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking assistance in identifying a suspect following an armed robbery at a gas station in the City of Vaughan.     

On Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at approximately 8:55 a.m., York Regional Police responded to a gas station on Highway 7 at Kipling Avenue for a report of a robbery.

A male suspect wearing a baseball hat entered the gas station and asked for a scratch ticket. When the employee asked how he would like to pay he revealed what the victim believed was a gun in his waistband and then climbed on the counter and demanded cash from the register. The suspect fled the scene with a quantity of cash.

The employee was not physically injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as:
  • Male, white
  • 25 to 40
  • 5’6”, medium build
  • Brown beard
  • Wearing white T-shirt and a baseball hat
  • Tattoos on right arm
