Pefferlaw man charged with trafficking after police dog finds suspected cocaine

Two people are charged with drug offences after police seized suspected cocaine during a traffic stop in Bradford.

On Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, just before midnight, a South Simcoe Police Service officer on Barrie Street pulled over a vehicle with one headlight.

Investigation revealed the driver's licence was suspended due to his previous driving history. He was placed under arrest. A search of the driver turned up a small quantity of a white powder suspected to be cocaine. PSD Nitro was called to the scene and located items in the vehicle including an additional amount of more than 80 grams of suspected cocaine and a quantity of cash.

 After the discovery of the suspected drugs, a female passenger was also placed under arrest.

A 30-year-old Pefferlaw man was charged with:

  • Possession suspected cocaine
  • Trafficking
  • Operation while prohibited
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Fail to comply with recognizance
A 23-year-old Tiny woman was charged with:
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession suspected cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

The driver was held for a bail hearing and the woman was released with an October court date.
