Newmarket woman faces assault charge following disturbance call

BRADFORD - A 32-year-old Newmarket woman is charged with assault, uttering threats and mischief after South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a disturbance call.

On Monday, May 27, 2019, around 10:20 p.m., police were dispatched to a home in Bradford after receiving calls regarding a woman yelling and damaging a home.

Once on scene, officers spoke to a 41-year-old Bradford man who had obvious injuries. The man's girlfriend was subsequently arrested and transported to South Division.

She was charged with assault, uttering threats and mischief.

The accused was released with a future court date. The victim did not require medical treatment.
