South Simcoe Police Service officers have made arrests following two break and enters at area businesses.

On Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019 at 8:20 a.m., police were called to a restaurant in Cookstown for a report of a break and enter. Once on scene, investigation revealed that an unknown suspect entered the business which is located in a plaza off Highway 89. The suspect left the scene with a quantity of cash.

On Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, at 9:20 a.m., police were called to a restaurant on Holland Street West in Bradford regarding a break and enter. Investigation revealed an unknown suspect entered the business which is located in a strip mall and left the scene with a quantity of cash.

Following an investigation by uniformed and Street Crime Unit officers, a man and woman, both 39 years old from Newmarket, are each charged with the following offences:
  • Break and enter
  • Theft Under $5,000 - two counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime - two counts
  • Mischief - two counts
  • Disguise with intent
  • Possession break in instruments
The woman was released with a future court date. The man was held in custody.
