Newmarket man arrested in Bradford shooting from April

On Friday, April 29, at approximately 1:08 a.m., the South Simcoe Police Service was dispatched to the “sound of gunshots” in the area of Simcoe Road and Centre Street in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Upon arrival to the scene, police located and seized several shell casings from the roadway. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.

After an extensive investigation, police identified a suspect in the shooting.

On Tuesday, July 19, police arrested and charged 27-year-old Terrell Cable of Newmarket with various firearm related offences including:

  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Discharge firearm with intent to endanger life
  • Assault with a weapon

Cable will be held pending a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing to determine further information relating to the identity of the victim(s) and the possible motive behind the shooting.
