Newmarket man among multiple impaired arrests in Innisfil

A Newmarket man is among several area residents facing impaired charges after the weekend, South Simcoe Police Service said.

Police said three separate arrests occurred within 30 minutes on Saturday.

On Saturday, Feb. 25 at approximately 5:10 p.m., police responded to a citizen-initiated driving complaint regarding an ATV in the area of Gilford Road near Lake Simcoe.

As a result of an investigation, a 33-year-old male was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol.  His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

On Saturday, Feb. 25 at approximately 5:30 p.m., police were conducting a RIDE program in the area of 25th Sideroad and Big Bay Point Road in Innisfil.

As a result of a RIDE check, a 68-year-old man from Innisfil was charged with operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol.  His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven

At about 5:40 p.m., in the same RIDE program, a 50-year-old male from Innisfil was charged with operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

On Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at approximately 10:17 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the area of 25th Sideroad and Line 9 in Innisfil.

As a result of an investigation, a 37-year-old male from Newmarket was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol and dangerous operation.  His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
