Newmarket man, 27, killed in Richmond Hill collision

A 27-year-old man from Newmarket has died in hospital following a collision in Richmond Hill on Friday, June 26.

York Regional Police major collision investigators are seeking witnesses to the two-vehicle collision in the intersection of Bayview Avenue and 16th Avenue at about 10 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived following a report of a two-vehicle collision, they determined that a black Volkswagen Beetle collided with a grey Infiniti, according to a news release. 

The Newmarket man, who was driving the Volkswagen, was pronounced deceased in hospital, police said. 

Four passengers in the Infiniti were taken to hospital with minor injuries, and the driver was not injured.
