Newmarket, Georgina men charged with attempted murder after man stabbed

Police say the 33-year-old male victim was transported to hospital and has since recovered following the incident in Georgina Friday morning

Investigators with the York Regional Police #3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged two men, 31 and 19 years, in connection with a stabbing that occurred in the Town of Georgina.

On Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, shortly after 9 a.m., officers responded to an injured person call in the area of The Queensway South and Simcoe Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and located a male victim suffering from multiple serious stab wound injuries. His dog was also hit, however was not injured. The 33-year-old male victim was transported to hospital and has since recovered.

Through the investigation, officers identified the two suspects connected to the incident and they were charged. They were held in custody and are scheduled to appear in court Sept. 20, 2021.

  • Unlawfully in a Dwelling House 
  • Disguise With Intent 
  • Mischief Under $5,000 
  • Willfully Cause Unnecessary Pain/Suffering To An Animal

Investigators are asking any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time who have not yet spoken to police to please come forward. They are also seeking any video surveillance from the area.
