Newmarket, Aurora drug investigation leads to Brampton trafficking bust

Three men are charged with trafficking, and fentanyl, crystal meth, oxycontin, and crack cocaine are among the drugs seized, York Regional Police say

Investigators with the York Regional Police Organized Crime Bureau - Guns, Gangs and Drug Enforcement Unit have charged three people and seized a quantity of drugs, including several different strains and colours of fentanyl.

An investigation began in late 2019, after information was obtained regarding suspects who were believed to be trafficking drugs in the Towns of Newmarket and Aurora.

On Feb. 14, 2020, a search warrant was executed at a location in the City of Brampton. Three people were arrested and a quantity of drugs was seized.

Anyone who may have purchased any types of drugs from these accused should be aware of the potential cross contamination with fentanyl and should seek medical attention if required.

Charged:
    •    Daquan Santo, 18, of Brampton

Charges include:
    •    Trafficking Schedule 1 Substance x7
    •    Trafficking cocaine x4
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking Schedule 1 Substance x3
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine x2
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking crystal meth
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 x8
    •    Fail to comply with recognizance x5

Charged:
    •    Matthew Crosby, 42, of Brampton

Charges include:
    •    Trafficking Schedule 1 Substance
    •    Trafficking cocaine

Charged:
    •    Corey Mastromatteo, 27, of Brampton

Charges include:
    •    Possession for the purpose of trafficking crystal meth
    •    Fail to comply with recognizance

Drugs seized:
    •    81.54 grams of fentanyl
    •    170.94 grams of methamphetamine
    •    142.78 grams of cocaine
    •    34.8 grams of oxycontin
    •    6.26 grams of crack cocaine
