York Region residents were among 65 people charged with dangerous driving and 44 charged with impaired driving in the Greater Toronto are by Ontario Provincial Police from Sept. 30 to Oct. 7.
According to OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, York Region residents charged are:
- Qun Chen, 32, Georgina — Impaired driving 80 plus
- Tsz Lam, 38, Richmond Hill — Operation while prohibited
- Shao-an Lu, 29, Markham — Impaired Driving 80 plus, Dangerous operation, Failure to stop after accident, Drive under suspension
- John Stewart, 59, Sutton — Impaired Driving 80 plus
- Jesse Villeneuve, 30, Georgina Island First Nation — Impaired Driving – 80 plus, Novice driver B.A.C. above zero
