Markham man charged after traffic stop nets $500K of seized cannabis

On Monday May 25, 2020 at approximately 11 a.m., an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) - Toronto detachment conducted a traffic stop for a highway traffic act violation. The vehicle was stopped on Highway 401 near Avenue Road in the City of Toronto. As a result of the investigation the driver was arrested and charged with multiple drug offences. Approximately 105kg of cannabis was seized along with over $5,000 in cash, cellphones and drug paraphernalia.  

Xue Zoe, 31 years of age, from Markham, is charged with: 

  • Drive - handheld communication device  
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available  
  • Possession for the purpose of distributing  
  • Possession of proceeds obtained by crime - over $5,000  
  • Possession of illicit cannabis  

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
