Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking assistance to identify a suspect wanted for an assault that occurred in July in the City of Vaughan.
On Tuesday, July 23, 2019, York Regional Police were called to a plaza located on the northwest corner of Rutherford Road and Jane Street for a report of an assault in progress. When officers arrived they located a 16-year-old male victim who was suffering from minor injuries and whose mobile phone was broken.
Investigation has revealed that the victim had been outside vaping. He was approached by the male suspect who had an issue with vaping. A verbal argument turned physical and the suspect assaulted the youth, then slapped the phone out of his hand causing it to break. The suspect fled the area on foot.
Investigators have been working to identify the suspect but have exhausted all leads. They are releasing an image of the suspect and appealing to our community for information that may help identify him.

- Middle Eastern
- 30 to 40 years
- 6’, 175 lbs
