Man wanted for fraud after fake ID used to get cellphone in Newmarket

The photo on the ID was of the suspect, but the information was for another person, Crime Stoppers crime of week says

The suspect is described as a male in his mid-20s with brown skin. He has black curly hair, a black beard, and a thin build. 

A fraudulent ID card was used to buy a cellphone in Newmarket and the suspect is wanted for fraud, according to Crime Stoppers of York Region's crime of the week. 

The incident took place on June 16, 2022. The suspect entered a Rogers store at 18075 Yonge St. in Newmarket at about 2:15 p.m. 

He used a fraudulent Ontario photo identification card to successfully obtain a new cellphone, police said. The photo on the ID was of the suspect but the cardholder information belonged to another person. 

The suspect is described as a male in his mid-20s with brown skin. He has black curly hair, a black beard, and a thin build.
