UPDATE: 2 teens arrested after man stabbed in dispute over dog sale in Vaughan

UPDATE, July 22: Two teenagers aged 19 and 15 have been arrested after a man was stabbed and a woman was assaulted in a dispute over the sale of a dog yesterday in Vaughan, according to York Regional Police.

A search warrant was executed at 12:45 p.m. today, July 22, at a residence in Toronto, and two suspects, a 19-year-old man and a 15-year-old female, were taken into custody and will be facing charges, police said in a news release.

Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking witnesses following a robbery and a stabbing that occurred in the City of Vaughan.

On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at approximately 10:15 p.m., police were called to a residence on Crooked Stick Road in Vaughan for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived at the scene, they located an adult male victim suffering from stab wound injuries.

He was transported to hospital and is expected to survive. The initial information officers obtained was that a male and female suspect met with a male and female victim regarding the possible purchase of the victims’ dog.

Investigators believe that a dispute occurred and the male victim was stabbed. The female victim was assaulted and her phone was taken. The dog was not harmed and was not taken.

The suspects involved in this incident are urged to seek legal advice and turn themselves in. Anyone with information on the incident or anyone with residential video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area are urged to contact police.
