Man charged with impersonating a police officer following incident at Markham massage parlor

Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit-Human Trafficking section have charged a 25-year-old man following an incident at a massage parlor.

On April 8, 2022, York Regional Police responded to a dispute call at a massage parlor in the City of Markham. Officers learned that a male suspect had attended the parlor and demanded sexual services for free. When he was refused, he alleged that he was an undercover police officer.

The suspect was arrested and charged and it was confirmed that he is not employed in law enforcement in any capacity. Investigators are releasing his photo to ensure that there have been no further similar incidents. Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
