Man charged with attempted murder after protester stabbed in Vaughan

Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a 33-year-old man from Brampton in connection with a stabbing in the City of Vaughan.

On Friday, March 25, 2022 at approximately noon., York Regional Police responded to the area of Huntington Road and Langstaff Road for a report that a male victim had been stabbed during a protest. Officers learned that a dump truck driver had got into an argument with a protester about entering the construction site and the protester had been stabbed.

The truck driver initially fled from the scene but turned himself in shortly after. The victim, a 42-year-old man, was transported to hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

Charged:
    •    Carrington Gooden, 33, of the City of Brampton

Charge:
    •    Attempt to commit murder
