Man assaulted, kidnapped in Vaughan home invasion

Investigators with the York Regional Police York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking witnesses and four suspects following a home invasion in the City of Vaughan.

On Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at approximately 6:25 p.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence on Coranto Way, which is in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive and Weston Road in Vaughan. One of the victim’s reported that several male suspects forced their way into her home and assaulted and kidnapped her husband. Two young children, 3 and 5, were in the home at the time but fortunately, they were not physically harmed.

Officers located the male victim suffering from injuries as a result of the assault. He advised that the suspects took him to a bank and demanded he take out a quantity of cash. The victim complied and the suspects dropped him off and fled west in a vehicle.

There were four suspects involved, all described as being male, black, approximately 14 to 20 years, wearing all black clothing.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses, anyone with residential video surveillance or anyone driving in the area at the time who may have a dashcam, to please come forward.
