A 32-year-old Keswick man charged last month with impaired driving by South Simcoe Police Service officers has been arrested and charged with impaired driving again.

On Monday, Nov. 19, 2018 around 4:30 p.m., police responded to a call from a citizen concerned about a man in a parked vehicle on 10th Sideroad in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

When officers arrived and spoke to the driver, an odour of alcohol was detected. After a fail was registered on a roadside screening device, the man was arrested for Over 80.

He was transported to South Division where further testing resulted in readings of three times the legal limit of alcohol. Further investigation revealed the man's driver's licence was under two different suspensions.

The first suspension was for unpaid fines. The second was a 90-day suspension from being charged with impaired driving in late October. The man was charged with Over 80, Impaired Care or Control, Driving While Under Suspension and Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Open Liquor.

The accused, already before the courts on an impaired driving charged, was held for a bail hearing.

Thank you to the alert citizen who called us about this situation. By making the call, an impaired driver was removed from the road - again. When we work together, we can all do our part to keep our communities safe.
