Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking witnesses following a report of a home invasion in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, shortly after 9 p.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence located in the area of Westwood Lane and Pearson Avenue for a report of a home invasion robbery. When officers arrived they located a 24-year-old male victim who was suffering from minor injuries. He was transported to hospital.

Investigation has revealed that the victim had met with a man at his residence to exchange currency. Following the exchange, five males, one armed with a handgun, forced their way into the residence. The victim was assaulted and tied up before the currency was stolen. The suspects fled the area. Investigators are appealing to any witnesses to please come forward.
