Update (Dec. 31, 1 p.m.):
Police were called to the area at 9:36 a.m. on Dec. 30 for what appeared to be a dispute, Const. Maniva Armstrong with YRP said, however, when they arrived they determined it was a male in distress.
The investigation involved a large police presence but Armstrong said there was no risk to public safety.
At about 6:20 p.m. officers made contact with the man and transported him to the hospital for medical attention.

York Regional Police are advising residents about an ongoing investigation in Richmond Hill, which has resulted in a heavy police presence.
The YRP Duty Office tweeted at 1:45 p.m. on Dec. 30 that the investigation was ongoing in the area of 41 Crosby Ave. in Richmond Hill.
This is near the intersection of Yonge Street and Crosby Avenue and the address is for a residential apartment building. However, YRP have not shared any further details about the investigation or the affected area.
Police have asked those travelling through the area to find alternate routes.
