Georgina pharmacy employee chases thief to retrieve stolen narcotics

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have charged a 47-year-old woman following a robbery at a pharmacy in the Town of Georgina.

On Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at approximately 1:40 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a pharmacy on The Queensway South in Keswick for a report of a robbery. A female suspect passed a note to the employee indicating she had a gun and demanded narcotics. The suspect obtained a quantity of drugs and went outside to the parking lot. The employee chased her out and confronted her, retrieving the medications. The suspect fled in a vehicle.

The vehicle was later located at a motel in Bradford. A warrant was executed at the motel and the suspect was arrested and is now facing charges.
