Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a 28-year-old man from the City of Toronto after three men were assaulted at a car dealership in the City of Vaughan. On Thursday, June 20, 2019, shortly after 4:30 p.m., York Regional Police were called to a car dealership on Steeles Avenue West, just east of Keele Street, for a weapons call. Information was received that officers with the Toronto Police Service were at the dealership dealing with a suspect who had assaulted three men.

When officers arrived, they took over the arrest of the suspect and found that two men were suffering from stab wounds and a third man was injured as a result of being assaulted by the suspect. Investigators have learned that the suspect got into an argument with employees at the car dealership. During the argument, he assaulted one of the employees then stabbed two other employees. The victims were all taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

  • Christopher Ellis, 28, City of Toronto

Charges:

  • Attempt murder x2
  • Aggravated assault
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Breach of peace bond

Mr. Ellis has been held in custody and will be appearing in the Ontario Court of Justice on Friday, June 21, 2019, for a bail hearing.
