Employee injured in armed robbery at Vaughan mobile phone store

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking assistance to identify three suspects following a robbery at a mobile phone store in the City of Vaughan.

On Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020, shortly after 11 a.m., York Regional Police were called to a mobile phone store in the area of Weston Road and Highway 7 for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they located a store employee who was injured. He was transported to hospital for treatment of non-lifethreatening injuries.

Investigators believe that three men armed with handguns entered the store and demanded mobile phones. The employee was struck by one of the suspects. The suspects also demanded money from customers who were in the store at the time. The suspects fled in a dark-coloured sedan.

  • Male
  • 18 to 25
  • Wearing a black coat, with a bandanna covering his face
  • Armed with a handgun

  • Wearing a black sweater, dark pants

Suspect 3: 

  • Male
  • 18 to 25
