E-bike rider from Newmarket killed in Aurora car crash

Police are looking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the scene

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in the Town of Aurora.

On Thursday, June 23, 2022, at approximately 10:05 a.m., York Regional Police were called to the area of Yonge Street and Gilbert Avenue, for a report of a collision involving a Volvo and an EMMO electric bicycle (e-bike).

The rider of the e-bike, a 26-year-old man from Newmarket, was sadly pronounced deceased in hospital.

The driver of the Volvo was not injured.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, to please come forward.
