Do you recognize this suspect wanted for gas station robberies?

The robberies occurred in Oak Ridges last weekend

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking a suspect following two gas station robberies in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, shortly after 1 a.m., York Regional Police received a report of a robbery that had occurred at a gas station in the area of Yonge Street and North Lake Road. When officers arrived they located an employee who was not physically injured. The suspect had entered the gas station, loaded a gym bag with cigarettes, then fled.

In a similar robbery, on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, shortly after 12:30 a.m., officers were called to a gas station located in the area of Yonge Street, south of King Road, for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they located the victim who had minor injuries. Investigators believe that a man armed with a knife entered the gas station and made a demand for cigarettes. The employee refused and the suspect went around the counter, assaulted the employee and stole cigarettes. The suspect then fled on foot.

Investigators are releasing images of the suspect and appealing for any information that may assist with identifying him.

Suspect description:

  • Male, white
  • 25 to 35 years
  • 5’9”
  • Medium build
  • Shoulder-length, dark-coloured hair
