Cyclist killed in collision with dump truck in Richmond Hill

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision involving a cyclist in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Monday, May 6, 2019, at 1 p.m., York Regional Police were called to the area of Bayview Avenue and Woodriver Street for a report of a cyclist who had been struck by a dump truck. When officers arrived they located the cyclist, a 44-year-old female from the City of Richmond Hill, deceased at the scene.

The driver of the dump truck who struck the cyclist remained at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, are being asked to please come forward.
