Bradford man, Toronto teen arrested for pharmacy robbery spree in York, Toronto, Peel

The suspects used verbal threats, physical violence four 'takeover-style' robberies, Toronto police say

A 20-year-old Bradford man and 17-year-old Toronto boy have been arrested after a series of "takeover-style" robberies in York Region, Toronto and Peel Region.

According to Toronto Police Service, four pharmacy robberies occurred between April 13 and 16.

Officers from Toronto and Peel Region responded to three pharmacy robberies from April 13 to 14, police said, during which suspects entered the stores using verbal threats and physical violence.

They fled with cash and narcotics in a stolen car, police said.

Members of the Toronto Police hold-up squad launched a multi-jurisdictional investigation with the York Regional Police hold-up squad and Peel Central robbery bureau.

Following a pharmacy robbery Saturday, April 16, Toronto police responded to a similar takeover-style pharmacy robbery, during which a suspect displayed a knife. 

Officers were able to locate and arrest two suspects nearby after they had fled with narcotics in a stolen car, police said. 

Talha Ahmed, 20, of Bradford, is charged with: robbery with a weapon; three counts of robbery; four counts of disguise with intent; possession property obtained by crime over; and possession property obtained by crime under.

A 17-year-old boy, of Toronto, is charged with: robbery with a weapon; three counts of robbery; four counts of disguise with intent; possession property obtained by crime over; possession property obtained by crime under.
