A Bradford man was charged following an early-morning police pursuit that ended with a high-risk takedown on Highway 400.

On Wednesday, July 27, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the South Simcoe Police Service received information about a police pursuit in a neighbouring jurisdiction that was entering the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. South Simcoe officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of 8th Line and Barrie Street and conducted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled from police, who engaged in a pursuit. The vehicle was subsequently stopped on Highway 400 when officers conducted a high-risk takedown.

As a result of the investigation, 48-year-old Antonio Didiano of Bradford was charged with flight from police and dangerous driving along with numerous Highway Traffic Act offences including stunt driving. The accused was held for a bail hearing. His licence was suspended for 30 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
