York Regional Police are investigating after the body of a deceased woman was located in the City of Markham.
On Friday, May 24, 2019, at approximately 11:20 a.m., officers responded to a call regarding a body located on a park bench in the Rouge River Valley trails, located in the area of Highway 407 and Markham Road.
The Office of the Chief Coroner has been contacted and attended the scene.
At this time, the death of this 71-year-old woman is not believed to be suspicious and her next of kin will be notified. Residents can expect a police presence in the area while the investigation is taking place.
