Body found in King being investigated as 'targeted' homicide

York Regional Police have determined the death of 18-year-old Zachry Ramnath from the Montreal area was a homicide following the results of a post-mortem on April 24, according to a news release.

Police added in the release they believe this was a targeted incident. The cause of death is not being released.

On April 23 at 7:50 a.m. police received a call from a member of the public who reported finding body while walking their dog along a trail northwest of the Seneca College campus in the area of Dufferin Street and 15th Sideroad in the Township of King.

Officers confirmed the discovery of an unidentified male’s body. The circumstances of the death were deemed suspicious and members of the homicide unit took charge. 

Investigators are appealing to witnesses who can help retrace the victim’s whereabouts and activities leading up to when his body was found.

Additionally, investigators are urging anyone with dash cam or video surveillance in the area to contact police as soon as possible.
