'Beautiful angel': Family issues statement following devastating loss of 10-year-old daughter

The family involved in the devastating collision that took the life of a 10-year-old child in the City of  Vaughan has shared the following statement:

“We are utterly shocked and heartbroken by the tragic loss of Nikita - a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister and shining star. She had a huge heart, was courageous, very friendly and full of life. She touched  the lives of many in her short time here on Earth. 

“We are extremely thankful for the love and support that the family has received from the community during this difficult time. A GoFund Me Page has been created at https://gofund.me/7b30582e

“Whether you knew her or not, for anyone that would like to say a final goodbye, we invite you to stop by  for a few minutes at the visitation on Sunday Sept. 5, 2021 between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1591 Elgin Mills Rd. East, Richmond Hill, to honour the life of this beautiful angel.” 

Investigators have opened a digital evidence portal where members of the community can upload any photos, video surveillance or dashcam footage of the collision.
