Aurora collision causes life-threatening injuries for pedestrian

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Aurora on Saturday leading to life-threatening injuries.

The victim, a 19-year-old from Brampton, was hit by a white Toyota Venza in the area of Yonge Street and Henderson Drive at about 1 p.m. on Saturday, York Regional Police said.

Police were called to the area and the victim was transported to hospital.

The 50-year-old driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and did not sustain any physical injuries, police said. 

No charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the collision, to come forward.
