Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking witnesses following an attempted robbery at a store in the Town of Georgina.

On Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021 at 8 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a payday loan store located in the area of Riverglen Drive and The Queensway South for a report of a robbery.

Officers learned that a male suspects waited for the employee to exit the store at closing time. The suspect was armed with a gun and threatened the victim while forcing him back inside and demanding money. The suspect attempted to get a quantity of cash, however was unsuccessful. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arriving.

The suspect is described as male, white, wearing black clothes and a black mask.
