Armed robber flees with cash from Markham nightclub

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking a suspect and witnesses following a night club robbery in the City of Markham.

On Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at 1:05 a.m., York Regional Police were called to an establishment on Woodbine Avenue and Konrad Crescent for a report of a robbery. Officers learned that a male suspect entered the nightclub and threatened the employees with a gun while demanding money. The suspect grabbed cash from a cash register drawer and fled from the scene towards Shields Court. Fortunately, the employees were not physically injured. 

The suspect is described as male, Black, approximately 6’, with a heavy build.

Investigators from the Hold-Up Unit remind business owners of the importance of maintaining and updating video surveillance equipment. Quality images help to identify suspects, can aid in arrests and have a tremendous impact during court proceedings.
